R. Ankayarkanni is one of the young IEEE volunteers working as a Software Engineer at FORMCEPT Technologies and Solution Private Limited, Bangalore India. She is one among the active volunteers of IEEE Madras Section. She is holding office as Member, Operations sub-committee of IEEE SIGHT, Program Lead of IEEE Education Society- Madras Section and Student Ambassador of IEEE WIE AG- Madras Section. She is a member of IEEE Education Society, IEEE Electron Devices Society and IEEE WIE Affinity Group.
She received her Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering from St.Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil, Tamilnadu, India. She has also taken the role of Chairperson(2017-18) and Vice-chairperson (2016-17) of IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group. She has presented and published papers in National and International Conferences and received project funding. Her volunteering in several IEEE events from the IEEE StB 62851- St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering is commendable. She has inspired and motivated the other student members through her activities and achievements. Guidance provided by her to peers and juniors to write papers and work on humanitarian projects has initiated students to get involved in technical activities. Experiences shared by her to students of nearby colleges have created awareness about IEEE. She has also visited schools to disseminate her knowledge to the school students and also took part in Technology Dissemination Contests.
For her active involvement, outstanding performance and being real inspiration to other students, she has been selected as Best Outgoing Student of the year from her department, Best Outgoing Female Student of the year from the institution and the Honourable Mention of IEEE WIE Inspiring Student Member of the Year Award in 2018 from Global IEEE WIE. Believing in ‘Serving society adds meaning to her life’, she has always done her best for the benefit of society and student community.
